Margaret River WA was originally a chilled out surfie town, but has evolved into the ultimate smorgasbord of fine wine, good food and spectacular scenery – just a three-and-a-half hour drive south of Perth. No trip to Western Australia is complete without a pit stop at Margaret River.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Perth to Margaret River Wine Region to Perth (L)
This morning travel down to the coastal town of Busselton to enjoy morning tea (own expense) and whilst here marvel at the Busselton Jetty, a one mile construction, the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere. Stop at the Cape Lavender Farm to view the beautiful gardens or maybe make a purchase from the extensive Lavender products they have on sale, alternatively try one of their famous Lavender scones. Continue south to the Margaret River Wine Region where you can enjoy some free time in the Margaret River Townships. Afterwards we head to the Lake Cave Tearooms where you can enjoy a picnic lunch and, time permitting, visit the CaveWorks Interprative Centre. Next we head to mammoth Cave to experience a guided tour of one of over 300 natural underground limestone caves in the disctrict. Traveling south pass by stunning Boranup Forest, a visual highlight of the region before driving past Augusta’s famous Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, a geographical point of significance marking the dividing point between the Southern and Indian Oceans.
Next stop is a winery where you have the opportunity to taste some famous Margaret River wines before being transferred to the Cape Lodge for your overnight accommodation. Overnight: Cape Lodge, Garden King Room with ensuite, Luxurious Boutique Hotel located 30 minutes from Margaret River in the heart of the wine growing region.
Day 2: Margaret River to Perth (Cape Lodge) (B,L)
Cape Lodge is located on its own vineyard around a private lake, the morning is yours to enjoy a sleep-in, indulge in the full gourmet breakfast (included) or just relax in the picturesque setting. Check-out this morning is by 10.30am. At 10.45am you will be picked up by a local wine touring company for a very enjoyable afternoon out and about sampling some of the regions gourmet delights. Please ensure you take your luggage with you as you will not be returning to Cape Lodge at the conclusion of the wine tour. Your afternoon starts on the banks of the Margaret River enjoying a gourmet Aussie style barbecue and informative talk by your local wine guide on appreciating the region’s fine wine. Return to Perth early evening.
