ITINERARY

DAY 1 Depart Los Angeles

DAY 2 Cross the International Date Line

DAY 3 Sydney
Welcome to Sydney, the jewel in the crown of the South Pacific. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for the next four nights. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 4 Sydney
This morning, take a sight-seeing tour of the city and its northern surf beaches, then enjoy a luncheon cruise on beautiful Sydney Harbour, taking in views of the famous Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

DAY 5 Sydney
Travel to the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains for a magnificent day. Afterward, stop at a Wildlife Park and see koalas and kangaroos, and many other Australian animals.

DAY 6 Sydney
Day at leisure. Tour suggestions on page 13.

DAY 7 Cairns
Fly to Cairns, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, Kuranda and the Daintree Rainforest. Rest of day at leisure.

DAY 8 Cairns
Board the luxury Quicksilver catamaran and cruise the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef for a day, enjoying a buffet lunch on board. Swim and snorkel with the tropical marine life, board the semi-sub for an adventure through coral gardens or see the fish feeding from the underwater observatory. On return, cruise back to Port Douglas, then it’s a short drive to Cairns.

DAY 9 Cairns
Take the Kuranda Scenic Railway to Kuranda where you can browse the markets and aboriginal art galleries. Return via Skyrail, stopping at the interpretive stations to gain a greater understanding of the rainforest. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park.

DAY 10 Cairns
Free day for souvenir shopping at Cairns markets, or see tour suggestions on pages 22 and 23.

DAY 11 Kangaroo Island
Fly to Adelaide and connect to Kangaroo Island, “Australia’s Galapagos” by coach and ferry. Evening at leisure.

DAY 12 Kangaroo Island
Spend the day exploring this fascinating wildlife habitat on a Sealink tour of the eastern end of the Island. You’ll see animals in their natural habitat and stunning coastal vistas.

DAY 13 Adelaide
Your second day of touring around the western end of the Island rivals the first for opportunities to see wildlife and to enjoy the natural beauty of this amazing destination. Return to Adelaide in the evening by ferry and coach.

DAY 14 Adelaide
At leisure to explore the diverse aspects of Adelaide, the Festival City. Tour suggestions on page 47.

DAY 15 Depart
Return to the US crossing the Date Line once more (same day arrival).
