Roundtrip cruise from Cairns to Lizard Island.
Coral Princess Cruises pioneered the concept of small ship expedition-style cruising in Australia. Carrying only 54 passengers, the ships are large enough to provide all the comforts of larger cruise ships, yet small enough to enable access to reef and island sites inaccessible to tour vessels. The emphasis is on environmental education and interaction.
DAY 1 Board late in the afternoon and enjoy champagne on the top deck as you watch the sun set.
DAY 2 Visit one of the remote uninhabited islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy a swim or glass-bottom boat trip. Cruise on to historical Cooktown and visit the museum featuring original artifacts recovered from James Cook’s Endeavour.
DAY 3 Arrive at luxurious Lizard Island. Climb the island peak that Captain Cook climbed back in 1770. Enjoy the spectacular views or snorkel off the beach over coral cays. Discover giant clams and a profusion of fish. Enjoy a glass-bottom boat trip with a Marine Biologist or scuba dive with a Dive Instructor. Cruise to Ribbon Reef No 9 where you will have time to further enjoy the water activities on offer.
DAY 4 Spend the day exploring Ribbon Reef No 3 and Rachel Carson Reef, which offer some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef.
DAY 5 Arrive Cairns Trinity Wharf at 8 am.
