ITINERARY

This amazing train traverses Australia from cost to coast, between the sparkling waters of the Pacific and the Indian Oceans, a distance of 2720 miles.

DAY 1 Arrive Sydney
Today is a day at leisure for you to enjoy the sights of Sydney, many of which are within close walking distance of your hotel. Stroll around the Rocks, visit the Opera House, even climb the Harbour Bridge. Our Destination Specialists can make arrangements for you.

DAY 2 Sydney
This morning you will enjoy an escorted tour of Sydney followed by a luncheon cruise on Sydney Harbour.

DAY 3 - 5 The Indian Pacific
No other journey in the world crosses so many different terrains in one country, from the spectacular Blue Mountains, through the famous green and gold Sun Belt of Australia, historic Broken Hill, past Australia’s first inland outposts and mining towns, through the red outback and across the world’s longest length of straight railway track, 298 miles through the stark and desolate Nullarbor Plain.
Board the train at 2.55pm. The trip is 3 nights in duration.

Two levels of service are available - Gold Kangaroo Sleeper and Red Kangaroo Sleeper

Gold Kangaroo Service:

  • Superior, well appointed day and overnight sleeper accommodation
  • Twin Cabins feature 3 seater lounge converting to upper and lower sleeping berths plus ensuite facilities with toilet, washbasin and shower
  • Single Cabins feature a lounge chair converting to single sleeping berth with shower and toilet facilities located at the end of each carriage
  • Cabins are fully serviced by carriage attendants with fresh sheets, pillows and comforters
  • Cabins feature power point, wardrobe, full length mirror, reading light, foldaway table
  • Complimentary toiletry bags and onboard magazine provided in all Gold Kangaroo Service cabins
  • Guests receive a Certificate of Travel and ‘collector’ stick pin upon disembarkation
  • Gold Kangaroo Service guests aboard the Indian Pacific dine in the elegant Restaurant Car. All meals are included in the Gold Kangaroo Service fare. The enjoyment of fine food and wine combined with views across this vast, beautiful continent is an unrivalled experience.
  • The Gold Kangaroo Lounge is often the center of activity for any journey. The cozy, club-like setting is an excellent place to socialize or sit back and enjoy the passing parade of Australian landscapes. The Lounge has a licensed bar and is the ideal place to gather for a drink before dinner or for a game of cards and a nightcap with new friends.

Red Kangaroo Service:

  • Comfortable, twin share day cabin converting to upper and lower sleeping berths at night
  • Seating comprises 2 facing lounge chairs
  • Private washing facilities in cabin
  • Cabins feature power point, wardrobe, vanity mirror, reading light, foldaway table
  • Toilet and shower facilities at the end of each carriage
  • Complimentary on-board magazine
  • Note: guests traveling alone may be required to share a Sleeper Cabin.
  • The Red Kangaroo Diner offers affordable and tasty light meals, snacks and drinks for purchase. Limited special dietary light meals are available (please request when you make your booking). The Diner is fully licensed. Snacks and light meals are also available for purchase throughout the day from the licensed Buffet Car.
  • Guests traveling in Red Kangaroo Sleeper Cabin have access to the Red Kangaroo Lounge. Sit back and relax, enjoy a drink or socialize with new found friends. Video games and entertainment are available in the Lounge. It’s a great way to travel.

DAY 6 Arrive Perth
Arrive Perth at 9.10am. The rest of the day is at leisure.

DAY 7 Perth
Day at leisure to explore Perth.

DAY 8 Package concludes
